Here's How To Create A
Persuasive Wholesale Catalogue
That Does The "Hard Work"
Of Selling Your Product To Stores.

What if your catalogue got stores scrambling to place an order, increased your income like WHOA and gave you the time to concentrate on what you really love?

Here's a secret.

When your catalogue is persuasive, IT CAN.

You could finally:

Increase your income

Increase your income

Because you know how to stay out of the "Maybe" pile and make it all the way to "Yes."

Understand
retailers

Understand retailers

Because you know exactly how we want to feel when we look through your catalogue.

Take charge of your business

Take charge of your business

Because you have a tool that can bring in the revenue you need, when you need it.

Because you know how to stay out of the "Maybe" pile and make it all the way to "Yes."

Because you know exactly how we want to feel when we look through your catalogue.

Because you have a tool that can bring in the revenue you need, when you need it.

gold key

Why is a persuasive catalogue THE KEY
to getting orders coming in?
(I'll tell you.)

Let’s start at the beginning. As you know, a wholesale catalogue is a brochure (either printed or digital) which showcases your products.

No matter what you make, a catalogue is necessary to persuade retailers to buy.

Big suppliers use them:

big supplier covers

Small suppliers use them, too:

small covers

Whenever you approach a retailer about stocking your work (or a retailer approaches you,) the unavoidable fact is:

You NEED a wholesale catalogue to seal the deal.

Clare Yuille

Why am I so sure?

As the owner of an award-winning gifts and fashion boutique, I’m continually buying new products to share with my customers.

Every year I spend thousands on stock from creative businesses like yours.

And every one of those orders starts with a wholesale catalogue.

Without exception.

How much money can you earn
when you persuade a single retailer to say "Yes"?

Let’s take a look at that.

Say you set a minimum order of $200.

That’s the smallest amount a store can spend if they want to get your stuff on their shelves.

And let’s say that you create a persuasive wholesale catalogue (yes!) which makes a particular shopkeeper want to buy from you (double yes!)

Now, that shopkeeper is likely to be cautious at first. She loves your work and thinks her customers will too, but she’s probably going to play it safe the first time around.

So her first order comes to $210.

Her customers do like your work. They like it a lot.

So two months later, she places an order with a value of $300.

Those items also sell well. So eight weeks after that, she’s back with a third order of $350.

From that point onwards, she orders from you every two months, spending an average of $450 every time.

At the end of the first year, this retailer has spent $2,210 on your products.

At the end of two years, she’s spent $4,910.

At the end of three years she’s spent a total of $7,610.

And there’s no reason to assume it’ll stop there.

The lifetime value of a stockist over five or ten years can be worth tens of thousands to your business.

Let’s take a look at that.

But...what if that same catalogue
persuades THREE retailers to say "Yes"?

Or five retailers?

Or ten?

It may not happen overnight, but these aren't unusual results.

If you approach the right stores, at the right time, with the right kind of wholesale catalogue, you make placing an order an easy decision for retailers.

So a persuasive catalogue is really a profitable catalogue.

Nothing is better than releasing new items and seeing stores actually buy them.

(Especially when you know how it feels to ask retailers to buy, only to receive a polite rejection – or no reply at all.)

And one BIG benefit of creating a persuasive catalogue is that your success is repeatable.

Once you understand the psychology behind it - including how to put all the components together (and why) - you can do it again and again.

With a few simple tweaks, the same basic catalogue can generate wholesale orders over months and years.

Imagine how great that feels.

You have a product to sell…

And you have a wholesale catalogue that persuades retailers to buy it…

So once you've pitched your work to a store you don't have to worry about "selling" anything.

You can relax and focus on what you love, whether that’s making, teaching, or simply serving your customers.

And all the while your catalogue is out there, working as hard for you as it possibly can.

Want to grow your wholesale business this Christmas?

Concentrate on tasks which provide the biggest return on your time and attention.

As we just saw, a persuasive catalogue can unlock tens of thousands in repeat orders over months and years.

And when you learn how to create your own, you can do some work on it today, some tomorrow, some the day after that… and benefit from that same work for years to come.

The 3 Big Secrets
Behind A Persuasive Catalogue

Artists sometimes think there’s no rhyme or reason to how retailers respond to their catalogue.

They believe it’s simply down to luck. If the shopkeeper is in a good mood, maybe they’ll place an order.

If not, well, at least you tried.

This kind of thinking may be comforting but it won’t help you get paid.

In reality, there are three big things retailers are looking for.

CATALOGUE SECRET #1

A persuasive wholesale catalogue helps retailers
make a decision without fear.

Retailers are constantly spending large sums of money on stock.

We have to. If we want our shops to thrive, we need a continuous stream of new products to share with our customers.

Even so, spending a huge chunk of your hard-earned cash is painful.

And wherever there’s pain, there’s fear.

What if placing this order is a big mistake? What if the supplier lets us down?

Instead of reducing that fear, some wholesale catalogues accidentally magnify it.

Here’s an example:

bad catalogue page final

See the problem?

The retailer needs to feel like he’s in safe hands.

Before he can commit to an order, he wants to know that you’re reliable and trustworthy.

But even though you are, your wholesale catalogue is letting you down. For whatever reason, you just don’t look like a pro.

To the retailer, this translates as: “Oh dear, I’m not sure she knows how to work with stores. This feels risky. Let’s have a look at someone else.”

Are you accidentally scaring retailers away?
(If so, we can fix that.)

Have you ever pitched to a store which, on paper, should have been strongly interested in your work – but heard nothing back?

Or maybe a retailer enthusiastically approached you about placing an order, but when you sent over your catalogue everything went quiet?

If so, you could be putting potential stockists off by accident.

Either way, I’ll show you how to spot (and avoid) these mistakes in Create Your Own Catalogue.

Now, on to the next secret…

CATALOGUE SECRET #2

A persuasive wholesale catalogue
shows your product in action.

Retailers want to see your work in its natural environment.

White box shots (which show only the product) are important too, but lifestyle shots can be the clincher.

Here’s an example:

LifestyleExample-HB-JustRight-2

Photos like this tell a story. The props, colours and lighting help retailers to understand who your work is for.

And when we know that, we can figure out whether there’s a place for it on our shelves.

But how do you know what kind of props to use, and how to arrange them?

How do you know when you’ve got it right?

Well, let’s take a closer look at what the props are doing.

Just-right-thick-lines

JUST RIGHT STYLING = MR EYEBALL STAYS ON YOUR PRODUCT

Not-enough-styling

TOO LITTLE STYLING = MR EYEBALL WANDERS AWAY

In the first picture, the direction and edges of the props make a “cage” for the retailer’s eye.

In the second picture, there aren’t enough edges to create a cage. As a result, the retailer’s eye is allowed to wander off and the shot isn’t nearly so compelling.

See how that works?

There are dozens of little touches like this that can give your catalogue the professional edge it needs to capture retailers’ attention.

Now…

Ever wish someone would just show you
how to do this stuff, step-by-step?

Well, I’ve arranged that for you.

Inside the Create Your Own Catalogue programme, you’ll meet Holly Booth - a leading product photographer who specialises in items produced by artists, designers and makers.

She will walk you through everything you need to know to photograph your own products and get professional results - how to style your products, lighting techniques, camera settings, how to edit your photos, and more.

I’ll talk about that more in a moment, but let’s look at the last secret of persuasive catalogues…

CATALOGUE SECRET #3

A persuasive wholesale catalogue
actually ASKS the retailer to buy.

Creative people often think that to make retailers buy, they have to do something out of the ordinary.

They worry they’ll have to crank up the hype machine, pretend to be someone they’re not or compromise their integrity.

But the truth is that your catalogue is simply a conversation between you and a shopkeeper who’s thinking about placing an order.

Only, you don’t have to set up a nerve-wracking appointment, pick up the phone or spend days emailing back and forth.

Your catalogue takes care of it for you.

And when you understand what retailers expect, the conversation flows naturally. By the end, it’s easy to say “So, would you like to place an order?”

Here’s an example of how that might look:

How To Order

If you don't have a page like this at the end of your catalogue, you're leaving money on the table.

In Create Your Own Catalogue, I’ll give you three digital catalogue templates as part of the programme – and easy instructions on how to customize them for your business.

(The example above is from one of those templates - designed by Kim Lawler, a graphic and web designer who specialises in working with creative businesses. She’ll show you how easy customizing them can be.)

So how do you go about
creating a persuasive wholesale catalogue?

Well, up to now, it's been a frustrating, time-consuming and expensive process.

Create Your Own Catalogue is designed to change all that.

As far as I'm aware, this is the only class of its kind.

The only class that tells you how to create a wholesale catalogue that gets indie retailers EXCITED about giving you money - and actually shows you how to do it.

Here's why I made
Create Your Own Catalogue for you:

gold key

It's specifically designed for selling to indie retailers

If you need a catalogue, there are lots of resources available on the internet. But the trouble is that almost none of it is specifically concerned with selling your product to indie retailers.

Create Your Own Catalogue is 100% customised for selling to boutiques, galleries and all other types of independent store. If it doesn't make indie retailers want to buy, you won't find it in the class.

gold key

It saves you thousands in professional fees.

You could just pay someone to create a catalogue for you. The BIG drawback is that you don’t need one professional – you need three. A copywriter, a product photographer and a designer.

That gets expensive really quick.

If you wanted to hire me, Holly and Kim to work on your catalogue, it’d cost you at least $6,000. That kind of outlay just isn't do-able for most of the artists I work with, so I made Create Your Own Catalogue. This training gets you out of paying a small fortune on professional help.

gold key

It takes the guesswork out
of creating a catalogue

Trial and error is a slow, expensive way to learn. Why spend months (or years) trying to figure out how to make your catalogue persuasive when I can show you what to do (and how to do it) today?

Create Your Own Catalogue will help you fix the leaks, make money and understand retailers better than your competitors do.

At last, you'll have a step-by-step process you can follow every time you need a new catalogue.

Let me show you exactly what's inside...

"Showing the first draft of our catalogue to my business partner was incredibly rewarding. She was so impressed with how much I'd learned. The training was fun because of your writing tone and the ability to begin applying lessons almost immediately. After taking this class, I don't know if I'll ever feel the need to pay someone to design a catalogue, even when we are hugely successful and drowning in money."

Questions About Create Your Own Catalogue?
I've got the answers!

Create Your Own Catalogue

“When do I get access, and for how long?”

You get immediate access to the complete training as soon as you register, and it's yours for life, including updates.

“Can I pause my email support?”

Yes. If you’re going on holiday, having a baby or climbing the Jungfrau soon, you can pause your 90 days of email support and pick it up when you’re ready to start work on the class. Just drop me a line to set that up.

“I'm not a tech expert. Is this for me?”

ABSOLUTELY. I’ve designed the screencasts and templates for complete beginners. We also only tell you the stuff you need to know to edit your photos and customise your templates. If you take things one step at a time, none of the technical stuff in Create Your Own Catalogue will be above your level.

“What’s the format of the class?”

Create Your Own Catalogue is an audio, text and video class. If you like to read, there are PDFs of each chapter. If you learn best by listening, you can download the recordings. Then, there are the screencasts. These are videos where we show you exactly what steps to take in InDesign or Canva and Lightroom. Watch what we do on or screen, pause the video, do the same on your screen, and so on.

“Do the recordings suck?”

Nope. They’re like high-quality podcasts, with no beeps, buzzing or barking dogs. You get around four and a half hours of audio in total.

Create Your Own Catalogue
Create Your Own Catalogue

"Do I need design skills?"

Kim’s already made all the major design decisions for you in your catalogue templates. If you’re not super confident with design, you can simply leave the fonts and colours as they are.

"How much other stuff will I need to buy?”"

Most of the things you’ll need for Create Your Own Catalogue have low-cost, DIY options. On the photography side, you can use what you have – an old DSLR, a point-and-shoot or even your smartphone. We show you how to light your shots using natural light, and recommend inexpensive light bouncers and backgrounds made with supplies from the art shop. In terms of software, we show you how to download free, 7 day trials of Adobe Lightroom and InDesign, or open a Forever Free Canva account.

Why did you enroll in Clare's training?
